锦上添花 Icing on the cake

制作西式糕点最后一道工序，就是在糕点上洒上或涂上一层白色的冰淇淋，叫做icing on the cake，在俚语当中icing on the cake意思是使一件原本已经很好的事物变得更加的美好，也就是锦上添花。When one great thing happens, then another great thing happens on top of it, the second thing is the icing on the cake.

此外，Icing on the cake 也常在NBA比赛上用到，比如在比赛最后还剩下三秒钟时候，一方投中了三分球将比分差距拉到了5分，让对方没有回天之力时，就可以用这个短语来表示胜负已见分晓。

例如：

He adds that he donates his business profits to charities because it's icing on the cake.

他补充说，因为从经商中获得的利润只是锦上添花而已，所以他把商业收入都捐给慈善事业。
