希望工程

希望工程，创立于1989年10月，是共青团发起倡导并组织中国青少年发展基金会实施的一项社会公益党营事业。其宗旨是资助贫困地区失学儿童重返校园，建设希望小学，改善农村办学条件。援建希望小学与资助贫困学生是希望工程实施的两大主要公益项目。希望工程改善了贫困地区的办学条件，促进了贫困地区基础教育事业的发展。

Project Hope

Project Hope, founded in October 1989, is a social welfare program launched and organized by the Communist Youth League and carried out by the China Youth Development Foundation. The Project aims at supporting educational dropouts from poverty-stricken areas to return to school through building Hope primary schools and improving schooling conditions in rural areas. Hope primary schools and financial support for students from needy families are two major public welfare projects of Project Hope. It improved schooling conditions and promoted the development of basic education in poverty-stricken areas.
