China, a teahouse is traditionally a place which offers tea to its consumers. People gather at teahouses to chat, socialize, and enjoy tea, and young people often meet at tea houses for dates. The Guangdong (Cantonese) style tea house is particularly famous outside of China. These teahouses serve dim sum, and these small plates of food are enjoyed alongside tea. Chinese teahouses enjoy a long-standing history, dating back to the Tang and Song dynasties. Chinese teahouses originated in the Western Jin Dynasty, took shape in the Tang Dynasty and developed and completed in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The developing course of teahouse reveals the developing condition of economy, society and culture in certain period.
