(2) desert 离弃、离开

辨析：

abandon 指因无能为力、心理厌倦或情绪沮丧而放弃、抛弃，含有永远和彻底的意思。如放弃某种政策、取消计划、丢弃船只。

desert 指违背法律、道义、信仰、义务等舍弃岗位和职责。该词为贬义词，所构成的行为通常受到鄙视和谴责。

He deserted her for another woman.
