［注释］真怪，至今我们都没收到她的回信。odd奇怪的(常指反常或出人意料，因而使人感到“诧异，稀奇，有趣”)。A)odds名词，差异；B) queer指“古怪、神经不正常的”或“可笑的，可疑的”；C)peculiar指“独特，异乎寻常的”。

［注释］跟其他能源，如石油相比，煤的产量是很大的。plentiful指食品供应等各方面“量”多，很充足；abundant与plentiful近义，指“丰富，丰盛”，含有“盈余”的意味。
