With the campaign in Russia's presidential election in its last day, President Vladimir Putin has been on television reminding Russians to vote, his broadcast came after the head of the election commission acknowledged that media coverage of the campaign had been uneven. James Rogers reports from Moscow.

President Putin urged people to go to the poll, telling them their oppions were important and they should vote for Russia's future. He didn't mention any candidate by name but many will see Mr. Putin's address as an implicit plea to cast ballot for his favorate candidate Dmitry Medvedev. In case the personal request of a popular president isn't enough, Muscovite are getting plenty of reminders by mobile phone tax massege and even on the back of metro tickets.

普金总统呼吁人们赶快投票,并且告诉人们他们的意见很重要,他们要为了俄罗斯的未来而投票。在讲话中普金总统没有提到任何候选人的名字,但是大家都能看出来普金的讲话很明显是在为他最中意的候选人梅德维德夫拉选票。万一受欢迎的普金总统的呼吁还不够的话,人们还会不时地收到关于投票给梅德维德夫的手机短信,甚至他会出现在了地铁车票的背面。
